Rice School of Architecture

Campaign Goal - $14 million

Building a Think-Tank With Global Impact

The School of Architecture has been a cornerstone of Rice since the university’s founding in1912. Today, the RSA shares more than just the university’s date of founding — it also shares the vision for our second century, setting no upper limit for defining and advancing a better future. We train leaders involved in all aspects of architecture — theory and practice — to be well versed in the language of our built environment and capable of translating that language into decisions that impact our lives.

With our 2012 centennial on the horizon, we are tightening our focus and putting forth a new plan that will strategically position the RSA for success in our second century. Our primary goal is to create more effective models of collaboration that expand beyond the single cell of the studio. To accomplish this mission, we will:

  • Attract the best students and provide enhanced learning opportunities through class travel, studio experiences and international engagement.
  • Recruit and support world-class faculty.
  • Transform the educational and public spaces in Anderson Hall.
  • Strengthen our visibility and impact not only in Houston and Texas but around the world.
