Undergraduates
Campaign Goal - $30 million
We will continue to enhance the longstanding hallmarks of a Rice undergraduate education while preparing our students to lead in an increasingly complex global society. To create the next generation of leaders, we plan to
- Enhance communication and leadership skills – Meaningful communication is the foundation of leadership. We will teach our students to communicate their ideas articulately and to adjust their style and methodology to fit different settings and audiences.
- Turn the world into a classroom – Sending our students abroad is the best way to develop them into open-minded, global citizens. We will encourage all of our undergraduates to travel or study abroad.
- Put knowledge into action – Participating in research prepares our students for self-directed, lifelong learning and makes them much more attractive to employers and graduate schools. Funding will allow us to extend research opportunities to all of our undergraduates.
- Cultivate a dynamic campus – We will foster undergraduate life by creating plentiful opportunities for students to interact intellectually, culturally and socially with faculty and graduate students and to engage in meaningful activities of their own design.
