The Rice Annual Fund Scholars Program
The Rice Annual Fund Scholars (RAFS) program offers a way to strengthen your connection with today's students while supporting their hard work and talent. Your contribution at the RAFS Supporter or Sustainer level provides crucial resources that enable the university to remain accessible to our brilliant and talented Owls, regardless of their financial background, every year. Supporters and Sustainers will have the opportunity to connect with RAFS student ambassadors, some of our most outstanding scholarship recipients, and witness firsthand the difference that the Rice student experience is making in their lives.

Current-use scholarships: a powerful impact today
Undergraduate scholarships raised through the Rice Annual Fund play a vital role in maintaining Rice’s commitment to accessibility each year. Roughly 73 percent of scholarship aid offered to Rice students each year is provided by sources other than endowments, so, while both endowed and current-use gifts are crucial to funding 100 percent of students’ demonstrated need, Rice Annual Fund scholarships are critical to sustaining this commitment every year.
Annual Fund scholarships also have an immediate and powerful impact, as a current-use scholarship gift of $10,000 to the Rice Annual Fund is equivalent to the annual distribution of a $222,000 endowment.
