Make a gift in support of the Moody Center Complex for Student Life.
The Moody Center Complex for Student Life represents a defining investment in Rice’s future. Made possible by generous gifts from the Moody Foundation and the Brown Foundation, the new 75,000-square-foot facility will serve as a vibrant hub where academic, social and co-curricular experiences intersect. Located at the heart of campus on the Central Quadrangle, the complex will include flexible gathering spaces, modern study areas and tutoring spaces, and dynamic environments for experiential learning and student support services.
“The Moody Center Complex for Student Life will be a centerpiece for community, creativity and collaboration, providing our students with the resources and spaces they need to thrive.”
— President Reginald DesRoches
A new-look Central Quad
Scheduled for completion in fall 2027, the complex will feature The Brown Foundation Pavilion that opens to the Central Quad, offering opportunities for both indoor and outdoor events, including performances, lectures and multicultural celebrations.
A Cornerstone of Student Activity
The new building will anchor a newly envisioned student hub at the heart of campus, complementing the existing Rice Memorial Center and Ley Student Center, which will be renovated following the completion of the new facility. Together, these spaces will form a cohesive and inclusive student center complex shaped by student input and designed to reflect the diverse needs of Rice’s growing student body.
A Place for Student Opportunity and Success
The building will house a variety of spaces, such as a café, coffeehouse, meeting rooms, study areas and student services offices, designed to meet the needs of Rice’s diverse and growing student body.
