The Rice Annual Fund
The majority of parents who make a gift to Rice do so through the Rice Annual Fund. More than 2,000 Rice parents gave to the Annual Fund during the 2018–19 fiscal year, providing immediate-use funding that goes to work for students and the university today. Such unrestricted funding enables Rice to respond to new opportunities and funding needs as they arise, fostering the most vibrant university environment possible.
Parents Leadership Council
Share your passion for Rice with other parents.
The mission of the Parents Leadership Council (PLC) is to facilitate philanthropy, act as ambassadors for the university and its students, and foster a welcoming environment for all Rice families. As a giving society, the PLC unites families across the world who are dedicated to participating in a leadership role within the Rice community. PLC members contribute to the Owl experience in many ways, by assisting with internships, externships and career opportunities for students and by attending PLC meetings and special events.
Your annual Parents Leadership Council gift of $2,500 or more advances the university’s mission and helps provide all Rice students with opportunities to reach their full potential. The 2019–20 PLC is chaired by Kay and David Lasater, parents of Sarah '20.
For more information about joining the Parents Leadership Council, contact Kade Smith, associate director of development for parents and families, at 713-348-5344 or email@example.com.
Rice Family Fellows
Rice parents who support the university with annual gifts of $10,000 or more will be invited to join the Rice Family Fellows (in addition to the PLC). The Family Fellows are a select group of parents committed to enhancing the Rice education and supporting their children’s areas of passion. These philanthropic leaders will enjoy a reception with distinguished faculty for their entire family during Families Weekend each fall. There will also be an opportunity for a dinner with President Leebron during the Rice Family Fellows Spring Dinner on April 17, 2020, along with personalized tours and opportunities to hear from deans and other faculty members throughout the year.
For more information about joining the Family Fellows, contact Diane O'Brien, director of development for parents and families, at 713-348-3287 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
